Austria's lakes and rivers provide excellent conditions for water sports of all kinds. They include "classic" leisure activities on and in the water such as sailing, diving, water skiing, canoeing or windsurfing. Additionally, the development of new trend sports is progressing rapidly.

The study develops a definition of the industry. Furthermore, the supply and demand side are analysed, as well as trends and future developments.
